AW-ITEM

From Sword World Translation Project
Jump to navigationJump to search

The following is a list of all of the items from the three Core Rulebooks, as well as new items introduced in this book, sorted by Category. These listings include weapon category and equipment location, and basic information can be found here. For magic items that require more detail, there are remarks in the Notes column.

Weapon Icons[edit | edit source]

Weapons listed with an in their name are magic weapons. While they are effective against certain monsters, they cannot be enchanted further, due to their innate enchantments already on the weapon.

Weapons with a icon in the Notes column are slashing weapons, whereas those with a icon are bludgeoning weapons. Some rare few have both, and will have notes describing how the weapon works.

Regarding the Reprinting of Renowned Items[edit | edit source]

For convenience, the Renowned Items introduced in Rulebook II have been reprinted and added into the General Items list as "Special Equipment". At the same time, some equivalent items have also been added to those lists, and similarly require the expenditure of Reputation as well as money in order to purchase. These items will have both a Reputation cost as well as a monetary value in the Price column. Despite being Renowned Items, though, Personalized Equipment and Housing are not included in this book.

Weapons in Multiple Categories[edit | edit source]

Some weapons are listed in multiple categories simultaneously. For example, a Knife is a B-Rank Sword, as well as a B-Rank Thrown weapon.

In such situations, the relevant Combat Feats will depend upon which category the weapon is being used as. To use the Knife again, it would gain the benefits of the Combat Feat 《Weapon Proficiency/Sword》 when being used as a melee weapon, whereas were it thrown the character would benefit from 《Weapon Proficiency/Thrown》 instead. The same applies to A- Rank and S-Rank weapons as well, where they will only provide their Rank Benefits when the appropriate 《Weapon Proficiency/**》 Combat Feat is taken.

Equipable, Exclusive, and [Class Level] Required[edit | edit source]

Some equipment have annotations that relate to specific Classes. These annotations mean the following:

Grappler Equipable
The Grappler class is highly restrictive in which equipment it can use effectively. If a Grappler PC equips items that are not allowed by the Grappler class, then they cannot use their Grappler levels for determining Accuracy, Evasion and Calculated Damage.
Equipment that says that it is "Grappler Equipable" means that it can be used by a character with the Grappler class without losing their bonuses to Accuracy, Evasion and Calculated Damage.
All weapons, regardless of attack method, that are in the Wrestling category are automatically assumed to be Grappler Equipable weapons.
Grappler Exclusive
Much like the above annotation, equipment marked as "Grappler Exclusive" means that it can only be used by a character with levels in the Grappler class. When using weapons marked as Grappler Exclusive, the character's Grappler class level must be used when determining Accuracy and Calculated Damage. Similarly, Grappler Exclusive armor requires the wearer to use their Grappler class level to determine Evasion. if the armor is worn by someone without any levels in the Grappler class, then they cannot gain any Evasion or Defense from the armor.
[Class Level] Required
Some equipment requires certain classes at certain levels in order to equip it. These rare pieces of equipment will only provide benefits to those with a certain class that has advanced to a particular level or higher. However, the equipment will provide its benefits regardless of whether or not the required class is used for its calculations.

  • Elemental Sword: a short sword with a blade that shimmers like a rainbow.
  • Ripper Knife: At first glance, it looks like an ordinary knife. However, the blade is actually three incredibly thin blades stacked on one another. The join between the blade and handle is an ingenious design, and allows the user to launch any number of blades with the flick of a wrist and the press of a button.
  • Blessed Sword: A rapier with a platinum hue, its slashes heal the defender through divine providence.
  • Shifting Sword: A strange one-handed sword from the Al Menas era, the curve of its blade changes on each swing.
  • Berserker's Soul: This black blade is cursed by the spirit of a warrior who died in battle, their dying handprint forever etched into the sword.

  • Terbutje: Also known as a macahuitl, this primitive weapon is made from shark teeth tied to a club. The teeth are strong, but can't handle long combats without breaking.
  • Main Gauche: A defensive dagger with a cage-like guard, this weapon is meant to deflect incoming attacks, rather than strike decisively.
  • Shotel: This sword has a semi-circle blade designed to confuse defenders and reach around shields. However, its odd shape renders it difficult to use effectively.
  • Zantetsuken: This longsword has a jagged edge like a saw blade, able to cut through the strongest steel as though it were paper.
  • Destroyer: Forged from a single piece of heavy steel, this single-edged sword allows the wielder to use the spine of the sword as a bludgeoning weapon.

B-Rank Warhammers
Weapons designed with both a blunt hammer-like head as well as a sharp pick. These weapons can be used as slashing weapons when fighting monsters resistant to bludgeoning, as well as bludgeoning weapons when in combat with slashing-resistant monsters. • Net: Made of tough threads woven into a loose mesh, this weapon is primarily used to entangle and restrain an opponent without hurting them. Typically, it is thrown over an opponent's head, but it can also be used on one hand while in close quarters. When using a net, it's often held in one's off-hand and used first, so that way the weapon held in the main hand can be used to finish off the opponent.
  • Drain Net: Similar to a normal net, though it was made with eerie blue-black threads. It's said that it can drain mana from an entangled target, during which it glows a dark red.
  • Whip: A long, strong whip made of leather. It can be used to entangle an opponent, but it also can damage an opponent directly as well.
  • Chain: A strong chain made of iron. Similar to a whip, it can be used to attack directly or to entangle an opponent.
  • Kusari-Fundo: Also called a "weighted chain", this weapon has weights attached to the end of a length of chain. In order to attack, it is spun by the user, holding the middle of the chain, and the weight is aimed at the enemy. Experts with the weapon can choose to either arc the weight over shields and defenses, or shoot the weight straight into the opponent.
  • Meteor Hammer: This weapon is a large iron ball attached to a chain, and requires the user to move their entire body in order to bring it up to speed in order to attack. There is also a slashing variation of this weapon, that uses a spiked ball instead, though it is much more dangerous even to the wielder.

  • Rose Whip: A whip made more dangerous by weaving spines in among the leather.
  • Cat o' Nine Tails: A weapon with several whips hanging off of the 1/2m long handle. While the name implies there are nine whips, there may be more or less, depending upon the weapon maker.
  • Urumi: A thin sheet of metal attached to a handle, it is sometimes called a "steel whip". This thin ribbon of metal is incredibly sharp while remaining quite flexible, allowing it to be used to wrap around weapons while also slashing at enemies. However, it's unwieldiness means that only true weapon masters will use it.
  • Chain Net: A net made of chains woven together. There are small weights on the edges in order to make it easy to swing and deploy.
  • Kusari-Gama: A weapon with a small sickle attached to a length of chain on one end, with a weight on the other. Practical use of the weapon requires the user to swing the weight around and entangle the opponent, then pull them close and slash with the sickle end.

Snake Sword 1H 15 +1 30 2 4 4 6 7 8 9 10 10 10 10 - 116,000

  • Snake Sword: A complex weapon, made of numerous small, sharpened pieces of steel each connected through their center by a high-strength steel wire. When a mechanism on the handle is activated, the wire can loosen or contract. Contracting the wire pulls the pieces into the shape of a sword, while loosening it turns the weapon into more of a whip-like weapon to entangle an opponent. Contacting the wire while it is entangling an opponent can be quite deadly.

Bows[edit | edit source]

B-Rank Bows
A ranged weapon, the bow seems to be a very basic weapon, often made of wood or animal bone and pulled into tension via the bowstring. However, in the hands of a skilled archer, they are incredibly dangerous weapons, able to fire accurately round after round. It is rather important to keep track of the arrows used, though, as it would be unfortunate to run out of ammunition mid-combat.
